Gallery Crawl

Spend time exploring Lynchburg’s vibrant art scene! This three-hour minibus tour will stop at four unique art galleries and studios. The Lynchburg Art Club is the city’s oldest art gallery with ties to Louise Jordan Smith, Randolph College’s first professor of art and visionary founder of the Maier Museum of Art collection. Riverviews Artspace is a mixed-use space in a converted warehouse in the downtown riverfront with artist studios, galleries, art-related shops, and residential lofts. A rotating slate of sophisticated, contemporary exhibitions in diverse media from established and emerging artists keeps the vibe fresh and eclectic. The Academy Center of the Arts, an art center in downtown Lynchburg housed in both restored and converted historic buildings, includes galleries, theaters, studios, and performance spaces. Findings Art Gallery, one of Lynchburg’s newest art galleries, features multiple artists in a bright, contemporary space.

Option #2  (1 pm until 4 pm)
Maker Space Tour & Activity

Vector Space is a non-profit maker space and community workshop that fosters innovation and creativity. During your brief guided tour with one of the founders, you will learn how the philosophy of an open and collaborative community extends from internal members to the external community. This benefit from shared knowledge of science, technology, engineering, art, and math makes the community stronger. You will get to take advantage of their facility while you make a letterpress print to take home.

Option #3 (2 pm until 3 pm)
