The 2024 Virginia Docent Exchange (March 3-4, 2024) is proud to announce our theme: “Curating Community.” How does your museum serve communities both new and established, both within and outside of museum doors? How can we make our programs and tours more relevant to the lives of those within our existing and prospective communities? Our theme encompasses ways we can broaden our definition of community, bring new perspectives to strengthen community bonds, engage new visitors, encourage diverse audiences, expand community outreach, and enrich the experiences of all audiences, including docents.
Submit your workshop proposals which reflect these ideas and/or bring new ideas to the table. All sessions for the 2024 Docent Exchange will be 45 minutes. Deadline for proposals is November 1, 2023. Notification of acceptance of proposal is November 14, 2023.
